President's Report

SDBS President’s report – June, 2010

We now have our boat in the water, and have started practicing. Regular practices are Tuesday and Thursday evenings, from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.

We started the year with a Garage Sale for the Cure, in conjunction with ReMax, TD Canada Trust and the Pink Piston Paddlers. Over $2500. was raised for the Breast Cancer Foundation. As well, some of members attend the local Relay for Life.

We will be “Awakening The Dragon” on June 10, at 6:00 p.m.

With a large number of returning paddlers, as well as a few new ones, we are looking forward to a great year.

We have the generous support of our two major Sponsors, Twin Anchors Houseboat Vacations, and The Canadian Breast Cancer Society, BC/Yukon Division.

We will attend two festivals this year, Salmon Arm, on June 26th, and Vernon on July 23 to the 25.

We are making plans to do some Breast Cancer Awareness events in October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and after our paddling season is over.

It seems we will be having a busy and exciting year for 2010.

Paddles Up!
Barb
